Just wondering how everyone shoots their muzzleloader in. How high at how many yards? 150 or 100 grains of powder? Maximum effective range of a 50 cal inline? Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

No need to kill yourself with that 150 grains of powder.

Go to this site and read the topics down the l/h side of the home page. These guys live and breath muzzle loading. I have used their mods and bullets for many years.

Encore with 100gr pyrodex and 240gr XTP. 1850 fps at muzzle.
1.1 inches high at 50 yds and dead on at 100 yds.
Drops 1" per 10 yards out to 150 and 2 inches per 10 yards out to 200.
5 inches low at 150.
15 inches low at 200.

Just a thought.....when sighting in, I always clean the barrel after every shot.  That way I can replicate each shot cycle for consistency.  It is a small pain but I think it's well worth it.
