Back in 1960 - buddy gave me a 1960 Sports Afield and I started looking through the Ads. You could also join the NRA for $5 or get your Red plaid Jacket

I remember reading Nat Geo (No! Not for the topless natives!) in the 60’s and seeing ads for new cars for $1499. Maybe less.

But $2.00/hr was good money.

Anyone remember the adds to give a bank a bunch of money and they’d give you a high end gun then and all your money back in 20 years? Anyone do it or know anyone that did it? They had those ads all over the place.
Seemed like a good deal at the time. Glad I didn’t have any money then.

I sure do. I believe they were all Weatherby Mark V rifles at that.

In 1965 I was working for a concrete company making $2.99 an hour, real good money.
