The color depth of field and overall picture quality is why I make my own cameras!
What make model of detection board?
Only problem with homebrews sometimes you dont want to flash the bucks
I understand some have experienced problems with white flash cameras & even LED's spooking game.
My experience has taught me to hang them about 6 ft. and I have had no problems at that height.
Critters see flashes in the sky from lightning and other sources so up high and not right in their faces seems to work alright. Camtrappers that I share info with from around the world use white flash all of the time. Some of the newer homebrew technology uses black flash and LED's. Even remote multi white flash set-ups that fire with the primary flash.
This particular board I used is called a Critter Getter Micro board and it is about the same size as a 9 volt battery which sits on top to power it, and it can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
