I received this email from the Regional Director of the National Wild Turkey Federation. I've talked with Mrs. Page-Garvin and she's a great woman with an awesome attitude towards hunting. Thanks to the Bay Shore Gobblers if there are any members on here, but here is a great way to support sportsmen with disabilities. Hello outdoor enthusiasts! I am very pleased to announce that the Bay Shore Gobblers NWTF Chapter is teaming up again with Assateague Island National Seashore (ASIS) to offer a crossbow sika deer hunt for sportsmen with disabilities. The 1 ½ day hunt will be held January 4 & 5, 2010. For those of you who have enjoyed this event in the past, you know that it is an experience of a lifetime and we’d love to have you back! For those new guys and gals out there, here are the details: The hunticks off at 5:30 PM Sunday, January 3, with a dinner buffet at the Grand Hotel in Ocean City , MD. There you will meet fellow hunters and volunteers, get your blind assignments, receive a safety overview, and enjoy a great evening among friends. Then bright & early Monday morning we’ll all meet up at ASIS for a pre-hunt briefing and the real fun begins! You will hunt Monday morning & afternoon, and again Tuesday morning, changing your hunting location for each session so everyone has a great opportunity. Lunch is provided, as is plenty of help both in the blind and after your harvest. Dinner tickets are $30 for guests (non-hunters) and need to be ordered in advance using the attached form. Rooms are available at the Grand Hotel during the hunt for a discounted rate of $45/night. Everything else is free!! This event is very popular and space is limited to just 25 hunters, so please get your forms in to me early. We are also starting a list of NWTF members who would like to help during the hunt – if you can help with anything from field dressing to preparing lunch, let me know! If you cannot make the hunt, but would like to contribute an item or monetary donation to help support the event, please contact me at this email address or at the phone number below.
