Heard some coyotes yipping in the direction of my stand when I left my truck on the morning opener in September up in PG county. As I got closer to the stand I could hear at least two of them circling around me and I could intermittently see their eyes with my flashlight as they moved around maybe 50-60 yards out. They moved off after they realized what I was, but I admit that I was a little nervous for a minute there and wished I had a pistol instead of essentially getting one poor shot opportunity with the crossbow I had with me.

Never heard of them attacking a human, at least not in MD....but the point is that if that wild animal decided it wanted to kill you, it could, and there's really nothing you could do about it without a proper weapon.
